Blue Wizard

 

Blue Wiz is a beautiful 13hh piebald Irish cob pony. He is 13 this year - his birthday is 30th June 2011. Blue Wiz has beautiful blue eyes and is very gentle, loving and sensitive. He was a formative member of the Wildies being rescued at just 2 years old by the sanctuary in Sussex and came to live with us in Wales in July 2023.

 

Blue Wiz often loves scratches by humans and enjoys hanging out with Gatsby, Bonnie, Archie, Skye and Remy. He is very gentle and sensitive, often hanging back on the edge of the herd. His coping mechanism in the past has been to shut down and go along with what is asked of him, however when given complete autonomy over his body and choices he is showing us that he would rather not engage with too many of the bolder and more confident horses in the herd. When the herd are having hay, he gets worried about everyone moving quickly, so we make sure he has a separate pile safely in a place where he is part of the herd but feels protected. We are helping Blue Wiz to feel more confident and trusting around the others so that he can integrate more and hopefully begin to play and have fun with the others.
